Knowledge Platform is a state-of-the-art corporate training and education company, using technology to bring top-quality educational content to companies, classrooms and online. Knowledge Platform is currently looking for motivated, tech-savvy, and education-minded team members to create learning content and assessments for the Life Insurance industry. The position will be for 9 or 10 months initially but can be made permanent if the candidate performs well.

The applicant will be responsible for creating educational content in the form of scripts for videos, infographics, PDFs and assessments, to be used online and in a (digital) classroom setting. They will work together with graphic designers and a development team.

 

Skills required:

  • Excelent English writing and comprehension skills
  • Experience in writing educational and technical content
  • A background in banking or insurance is preferred
  • An excellent command of Microsoft Office and strong overall computer skills
  • Good interpersonal skills and collaborative team player

 

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Research life insurance-related topics
  • Distil complex ideas and terminology into simple terms or into visuals
  • Write assessments, infographics, and scripts for animated videos

About the Project

The birds & bees project is funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Knowledge Platform Pvt (Ltd) is the only Pakistani organisation to win this grant among 15 other grantees from across the world. The year-long project is a one-of-a-kind pilot programme.

Birds & Bees is designed on the principle of informal education in an informal setup. We call it “learning with nature”. Through this project, we aim to teach young learners 21st century skills, which include but are not limited to critical thinking; creativity and innovation; communication and collaboration, and civic literacy and global awareness. The rationale behind this innovative project is to give young Pakistanis the opportunity to explore learning through unusual means and to develop an interest in environmental conservation.

This project offers a unique opportunity for learners to explore new areas of vocational interest and to understand the significance of preserving our natural environment. The project is designed to build the capacity of learners through multiple hands-on activities. Through this programme, they will learn the concepts of entrepreneurship, and they will be challenged to be innovative, creative, to think and analyse critical problems, to communicate and collaborate with other team members, and develop a sense of civic responsibility.

Job Description

 

Position: Project lead

Duration: 1 year contract

Reporting to: CEO

Key Responsibilities 

  • Under the supervision of the CEO, work on scaling up the programme.
  • Design and conduct workshops and projects for the low-cost private schools within Islamabad, on school site and off-site at Trail 5
  • Scope new schools within Islamabad and Rawalpindi to bring on board as our partner schools for the birds & bees project
  • Regularly improve the workshop content according to the needs of the students
  • Liaison with the outreach team to schedule workshops in the different partner and new schools
  • Work closely with the content team to develop new offline and online content
  • Work closely with the graphic designers to design social media posts
  • Work closely with the marketing team to effectively showcase project progress on all relevant platforms
  • Manage the social media handles for the project
  • Manage short term consultants
  • Work closely with the admin team to arrange the workshops
  • Regularly visit the learning centre and ensure its completion
  • Maintain all project relevant data on the sharepoint

Our content includes videos, assessments, and games, and is used in over 300 schools all over Pakistan. It is also available online for free at www.learnsmartpakistan.org.

We are currently looking for motivated and tech-savvy educationists to join our content development team. The content developer will be expected to create educational content for grades 1 – 5 for mathematics. This educational content will be in the form of videos, interactive modules, games and assessments, to be used online and in a digital classroom setting.

 

Responsibilities and duties include:

  • Creation of content for digitally enhanced primary school learning environment for math. This includes, but is not limited to:
    • writing a script for a video lesson
    • creating content for games
    • creating animated presentations
    • creating worksheets/assessments
  • Ensuring content applicability to age, grade, and learning objectives
  • Analysing primary textbooks to develop taxonomies for math.
