support, coupled with new acquisitions left
the management unaware of the level of product
knowledge of their customer-facing employees.
Abbott also was interested in figuring out
where to best focus their training budget
across the various product lines and countries
to ensure higher return on training investment.

Platform developed an assessment engine and
online tracking for Abbott’s assessment
Project. These assessments were deployed within
two weeks across the Asia/Pacific region with
close to 300 staff members taking part. Knowledge
Platform managed the entire solution providing
the back-end support. Once the assessments
were completed, Knowledge Platform also spent
considerable effort in generating appropriate
analytics.
Result
The results
of this project have allowed Abbott to rethink
both how and where they are spending on traditional
training resources and in re-aligning their
training spend based on the gaps identified.
This re-alignment of training investment helped
Abbott improve sales of underperforming product
lines.
