Overview
Information Security has become very crucial in the current business environment. Irrespective of the security products implemented in an organization, the information in an organization is not completely secure unless the employees are trained on the security awareness policies and procedures.

The Global Information Security Survey (2004) conducted by Ernst & Young cites lack of security awareness by users as the second greatest threat facing organizations. Whether information security regulations are in effect or not, the liability on organizations, both from a financial and a reputation aspect, due to information security breaches is very high.

Research indicates that an informed workforce is a significant factor in reducing the security incidents in any organization. It is, therefore, imperative that security issues be made obvious and a firm foundation on the basics be built for the employees. This will help them understand the implications of their actions and be aware of these in their daily activities.

Why E-Learning for Information Security Training?
  • Employees play an integral role in protecting the assets of an organization, and therefore need to be adequately trained.
  • E-Learning is a quick, affordable, and effective method for delivering security awareness training to a centralized and distributed employee base.
  • E-Learning, in many situations, is more effective than Instructor-Led Training because it provides systematic tracking and assessment of learner progress.
  • E-Learning allows a common message to be distributed across an organization’s workforce.
