A nation-wide learning challenge including online English and Mathematics challenges, live contests, student and teacher boot camps and a national education forum.

Islamabad, 18 May 2016 – Knowledge Platform is launching series of digital learning challenges under the banner of Learn Smart Pakistan (LSP) 2016 today. Building on growing popularity over the past two years, this year the Knowledge Platform team has revamped and expanded their virtual learning platform, Ultrabot, to include both 9th and 10th grade English and Math content and assessments. Launching today with the digital learning challenge, LSP provides students and teachers a platform to access the Pakistani Board Curriculum via specially designed lessons that are fun and engaging: simultaneously breaking down assessment topics into key skills. It provides free access to more than 800 video lectures, over 10,000 assessments questions and 50 educational games. The content is freely available online.

“Quality content is one of the key strengths of the program,” says Country Director, Talhah Munir Khan, “Pakistan’s education system needs to make a shift from focusing on rote learning to active learning. One of Knowledge Platform’s key focus areas is developing programs such as Learn Smart Pakistan that will help push this shift toward reality.”

Today, students will be able to register for Learn Smart Pakistan 2016 at They can also participate in the Challenge with the mobile application of ‘Learn Smart Pakistan’ on Google Play. More than 75 tablets and 50 gift hampers will be awarded to winning students and teachers throughout the year. The Challenge, initially started in 2014, provides students and teachers the opportunity to compete for tablets and gift hampers.

Manager Learning Solutions, Hira Zainab, says, “We’re so pleased to see the remarkable growth in participation in the learning challenge; 1,533 students and teachers participated from 332 schools in 78 cities and towns of Pakistan during LSP 2015, the numbers showcasing a dramatic increase in participation from the previous year. We’re anticipating an even bigger community of students and teachers engaging this year.  It’s a great way for the education community to connect, share and compete with each other.”

9th and 10th grade students and teachers will be invited to partake in a series of challenges through the course of the year. The online learning challenge will be followed with pre-award tests to ensure students have completed the challenge on their own merit. It will also feature a boot camp for teachers to help strengthen lesson planning and online teaching skills, and a writing workshop for students. The series of events and challenges will lead up to the closing ceremony: one of Pakistan’s most anticipated Education Forums. The Forum is attended by the country’s leading education experts and organizations.

LSP is hosted on an award-winning learning management system (LMS), Ultrabot. Ultrabot, has received global acclaim: in January 2014, it was awarded a gold prize for “Best Advance in Unique Learning Technology” and silver prize for “Best Advance in Social Learning Technology” at the prestigious Brandon Hall Awards.
