Philip Anderson is the INSEAD Alumni Fund Chaired Professor of Entrepreneurship and Professor of Entrepreneurship at INSEAD. He currently teaches courses in strategy, entrepreneurship, leadership, innovation, and change, and has written over 120 original cases and notes for these classes.

Professor Anderson is co-author of Managing Strategic Innovation and Change: A Collection of Readings (with Michael Tushman), published by Oxford University Press in 2004 (second edition), and Inside the Kaisha: Demystifying Japanese Business Behavior (with Noboru Yoshimura) published by Harvard Business School Press. in 1997. Inside the Kaisha was named 1997 Booz • Allen & Hamilton/Financial Times Global Business Book of the Year for Industry Analysis/Business Context. In 2010, CMO Asia’s Best B-School Awards named him “Best Professor in Entrepreneurship.”

Mr. Yiannouka is Chief Executive Officer of the World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE), a major initiative of the Qatar Foundation. WISE is dedicated to advancing universal access to education, lifelong learning and education anytime, anywhere. Through education and research, Qatar Foundation leads human, social and economic development in Qatar and is dedicated to making Qatar a nation that is a vanguard for productive change in the region and the broader international community.

Prior to joining WISE, Mr. Yiannouka was the Executive Vice-Dean of the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy at the National University of Singapore. He joined the LKY School in June 2005 to spearhead the implementation of an ambitious growth strategy, which he had helped develop as a management consultant with McKinsey & Company. Today, the LKY School is widely recognized as the leading global policy school in Asia.

Together with Kishore Mahbubani et. Al., Mr. Yiannouka is the co-author of Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy: Building a Global Policy School in Asia, World Scientific (2012).

Before joining the LKY School, Mr. Yiannouka spent 5 years with McKinsey & Company, serving private and public sector clients in Singapore, Indonesia, South Korea and Canada, predominantly in finance, healthcare and education. Prior to joining McKinsey, he practiced corporate law in the City of London from 1995-1998 with the firms Gouldens and Mayer, Brown & Platt.

Mr. Yiannouka holds an MBA (with Distinction) from the London Business School, an LLB (with Honours) from the University of Bristol, and is a member of the Law Society of England and Wales, and an Adjunct Professor and Senior Advisor at the LKY School.

Wahid Hamid is a Senior Partner at The Abraaj Group, where he leads the Abraaj Performance Acceleration Group. The Abraaj Group is a leading private equity investor in global growth markets. The group manages $7.5 billion in assets, operating through 33 offices in Asia, Africa, MENA, Turkey and Central Asia, Sub-Saharan Africa and Latin America.

Before joining The Abraaj Group, Mr. Hamid was an independent consultant to private equity firms and their portfolio companies. He previously worked at PepsiCo as Senior Vice President of Corporate Strategy and Development and Chief Financial Officer of PepsiCo Americas Foods. He was also a Board Member of PepsiCo Americas and a member of the company’s Executive Management Committee. Previously, he spent 15 years with Boston Consulting Group, where his last role was Senior Partner and Managing Director in New York.

Mr. Hamid has undergraduate degrees from the California Institute of Technology and Occidental College in the US. He holds an MBA from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and an Honorary Doctorate in Humane Letters from Occidental College.

Mark Angelson became Chairman of NewPage Corporation, the leading manufacturer of specialty and printing papers, in December 2012.

He served as the Deputy Mayor of the City of Chicago and Chairman of the Mayor’s Economic, Budgetary and Business Development Council until September of 2012. Mr. Angelson was credited by Mayor Emanuel with facilitating the creation of tens of thousand of jobs for Chicagoans and launching the largest municipal employees’ Wellness Program in the country, among many other achievements.

From 1996-2010, as Chairman and CEO of a variety of public companies, including RR Donnelley (Chicago), Moore Corporation (Toronto), Moore Wallace (NYC) and WorldColor Press (Montreal), and as a private investor, he was a leader of the transformation and consolidation of the printing industry. The work of Mr. Angelson and his colleagues culminated in the creation of the two largest publicly owned printing companies in the world, employing an aggregate of nearly 100,000 people, and in the creation of billions of dollars in value for equity and debt investors.

Mr. Angelson began his career in 1975 as a lawyer with Sullivan & Cromwell. From 1982 through 1995, he practiced with Sidley & Austin, serving as Co-Chair of International Operations and resident managing partner of the law firm’s offices in Singapore, New York and London. He served as Chairman of MidOcean Partners, a New York and London-based investment firm 2007-2009.

Mr. Angelson serves as a Trustee and Treasurer of the Institute of International Education (IIE) and as Chairman of IIE’s Scholar Rescue Fund (SRF) and of SRF’s Scholar Selection Committee. Mr. Angelson is a trustee of Northwestern University, a member of Northwestern’s investment committee, and a teacher of mergers and acquisitions at Northwestern’s JW Kellogg School of Management. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, the Economic Club of New York, the Chicago Club and of the Pilgrims (London and NYC), and is a Fellow of the Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures & Commerce.

Mr. Angelson was graduated from Rutgers, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, and from Rutgers Law School. He is qualified as a lawyer (non-practicing) in New York, England and Wales. In 2005, Mr. Angelson and RR Donnelley received the Harold H. Hines Award from the United Negro College Fund. In 2006, he was awarded an honorary Doctorate of Laws by the John Marshall Law School. In 2013, Mr. Angelson was inducted into the Rutgers Hall of Distinguished Alumni, the highest honor that Rutgers University can confer on an alumnus.

Dr. Nafis Sadik, a national of Pakistan, was educated at Loreto College (Calcutta) and received her Doctor of Medicine degree from Dow Medical College (Karachi). She served her internship in gynecology and obstetrics at City Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. She completed further studies at The Johns Hopkins University and held the post of research fellow in physiology at Queens University, Kingston, Ontario (Canada). Dr. Sadik began her professional life as a physician, practicing obstetrics and gynecology in rural communities in Pakistan. She was appointed Pakistan’s director-general of the Central Family Planning Council, having occupied the post of deputy from 1968. In 1971, she joined the United Nations and became a technical adviser to the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and Chief of its Program Division in 1973. From 1982 to 1987 she served as assistant executive director.

In 1987, Dr. Sadik was appointed executive director of UNFPA, with the rank of under-secretary-general, becoming one of the highest ranking women in the UN system and the first woman in the history of the United Nations to lead one of its major voluntarily funded programs. Dr. Sadik is a dynamic leader and guiding force in the field of international maternal and child health and reproductive and sexual health, including family planning. Dr. Sadik champions the concept that women’s health and well-being are best approached from the broader angle of reproductive and sexual health, within the social and economic context of women’s lives. She has consistently called attention to the importance of addressing the needs of women by involving women directly, as well as men.

Dr. Sadik was the first female recipient of the Hugh Moore Award in 1976, named after a pioneer in the United States credited with calling attention to the world population crisis. She was cited for her leadership in the family planning field as well as for her leadership in encouraging other women to find careers in the population field. Dr. Sadik is a member of the Association of Pakistani Physicians in the United States. She was elected to the 1988 Fellowship ad eundem of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in the United Kingdom.

Her numerous publications are in the areas of reproductive health and family, population and development, women, and gender and development. Some of these are: Population: The UNFPA Experience (New York University Press, 1984); Population Policies and Programmes: Lessons Learned from Two Decades of Experience, (New York University Press, 1991); and Making a Difference: Twenty-five Years of UNFPA Experience, (Banson, London, United Kingdom, 1994).

Dr. Allan E. Goodman is the President of the Institute of International Education, the leading not-for-profit organization in the field of international educational exchange and development training. IIE conducts research on international academic mobility and administers the Fulbright program sponsored by the United States Department of State, as well as over 250 other corporate, government and privately sponsored programs. Since its founding in 1919, the Institute has also rescued scholars threatened by war, terrorism, and repression. Rescued scholars and other alumni of Institute-administered programs have won 68 Nobel Prizes.

Previously, Dr. Goodman was Executive Dean of the School of Foreign Service and Professor at Georgetown University. He is the author of books on international affairs published by Harvard, Princeton and Yale University presses. Dr. Goodman served as Presidential Briefing Coordinator for the Director of Central Intelligence in the Carter Administration. Subsequently, he was the first American professor to lecture at the Foreign Affairs College of Beijing, helped create the first U.S. academic exchange program with the Moscow Diplomatic Academy for the Association of Professional Schools of International Affairs, and developed the diplomatic training program of the Foreign Ministry of Vietnam.

Dr. Goodman has served as a consultant to Ford Foundation, the Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation, the United States Information Agency, and IBM. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, a founding member of the World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE), Co-President of the Partner University Fund (PUF) Grant Review Committee, and a member of the Thomas R. Pickering Foreign Affairs Fellowship Program and the Jefferson Scholarship selection panels. He also serves on the Council for Higher Education Accreditation International Quality Group Advisory Council and the Board of Trustees of the Education Above All Foundation.

Dr. Goodman has a Ph.D. in Government from Harvard, an M.P.A. from the John F. Kennedy School of Government and a B.S. from Northwestern University. He also holds honorary degrees from Chatham and Toyota Universities, Dickinson, Middlebury, Mount Ida, and Ramapo colleges, and The State University of New York. He has received awards from Georgetown, Johns Hopkins, South Florida, and Tufts universities, and the Légion d’honneur from France.
